What You Can Expect
8-day Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca Tour Experience two of Peru’s most iconic sights, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, plus much more during this 8-day, 7-night trip through the country’s biggest highlights. Explore the wealth of Inca history around Cusco, including the iconic UNESCO World Heritage site of Machu Picchu and the many ancient Inca ruins throughout the Sacred Valley. Then continue on to Lake Titicaca by first-class bus, exploring the unique Uros Floating Islands built from totora reeds and the beautiful scenery of Taquile Island.
Day 1: Welcome to Peru
Arrive to Lima and be welcomed to Peru by your driver and English-speaking representative. You’ll be transferred you to your hotel.
Overnight in Lima
Day 2: Lima to Cusco (B)
You’ll be transferred to the Lima Airport for your one-hour flight to Cusco. Once there, your driver and guide will transfer you to your hotel and you can spend the rest of the day at leisure. Discover Cusco and wander through its streets. Visit markets and shops to get souvenirs or try some local drinks at the various cafes and restaurants.

Day 3: Cusco City Walking Tour. Meals: B
Meet your guide at your hotel and visit the Cusco Cathedral and Plaza de Armas. Then, visit ´Qoricancha´, the Temple of the Sun and end the tour at San Pedro Market where you will witness local daily life. Learn about the local variety of products and the diversity of ingredients used in the local cuisine. We will show you part of the local fruits which can only be found in Peru. After your tour, you will head back to your hotel.
Overnight in Cusco
Day 4: Moray, Salt mines, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. Meals: B, L
Visit Maras and see its traditional streets. Admire the culture and people wearing traditional clothing. Then, see the circular terraces of Moray and enjoy a delicious lunch in a local house. Then, you will visit the terraces of Maras and learn about an ancient pre-Incan method of producing salt. You will head to the town of Ollantaytambo and visit the impressive Ollantaytambo ruins, temples and terraces. You will even enter an original house to observe the building and see how people used to live. After your Sacred Valley tour, you’ll be taken to the Ollantaytambo train station to take the 1.5-hour train journey to Aguas Calientes town.

Day 5: Machu Picchu and Expedition Train to Cusco. Meals: B
Visit the magnificent site of Machu Picchu and enjoy a 2-hour tour visiting the truly exceptional Temples of the Sun and the Condor. See the aqueducts and houses, and learn about the Incan Sacred Terraces. You then have time to explore the site on your own. You can do the trek to the Sun Gate for an impressive view overlooking Machu Picchu or a visit to the Incan Bridge. In the afternoon, you will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train to Cusco. There, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 6: Cusco to Puno (Lake Titicaca) by Tourist Coach. Meals: B, L
Head to the bus station and start at 6:00am scenic coach journey to Lake Titicaca. Along the way, you will visit interesting cultural and natural attractions. First, you will make a stop at the Andahuaylillas Church, known as the Andean Sistine Chapel. Afterwards, you will make a stop at the town of Racchi to visit the Incan temple of Wiracocha and discover this construction with adobe brick walls of 11 meters high. Then, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch of traditional Peruvian dishes at Sicuani. You will then reach the midway point between Cusco and Puno which is also the highest point of the journey, La Raya standing 14,100 feet (4,300 meters). Continue to Pukara, famous for its ceramic production and its most famous figurines, the two bulls. At 5pm, you will reach Puno, which lies on the banks of Lake Titicaca. A representative will be waiting for you at the bus station to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 7: Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island. Meals: B, L
Today, we will meet you at your hotel and taken to the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. During the morning, you will visit the unique Uros Floating Islands, which have been built of only totora reeds. You will be astonished to see how the locals use the totora reeds to build many objects essential in their daily lives. As part of your visit you will explore the lake with a trip around the islands by totora reed canoe. After the totara reed canoe ride, you will continue on to Taquile Island via motor fast boat. You will have time to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery of Lake Titicaca for one hour. Once you have arrived to the island, you will walk around the area and appreciate the beautiful landscapes. After your visit to the Taquile Island you will enjoy a locally prepared lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will cross the lake via boat and we will transfer you back to your hotel.
Overnight in Puno
Day 8: Lake Titicaca, Flight to Lima and International Flight (B)
Today we take you to the Juliana Airport for your domestic flight to Lima. You arrive in Lima in time for your connecting international flight.
